BEST DUA’s FROM QURAN
The Qur’an is filled with countless duas that speak to every moment and challenge in life. While many are powerful, the ones below hold a special place in my heart. These are the duas I personally turned to during my hardest times—when I needed Allah’s help, mercy, and forgiveness the most. And every single time, He responded. He helped me. He forgave me. Alhamdulillah.
"My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to
exit a sound exit, and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority."
Quran 17:80 https://quran.com/17/80
Explanation: This powerful dua was directly
taught by Allah to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Surah Al-Isra (also known as Surah Bani
Isra'il), Chapter 17 of the Holy Qur’an. It was revealed during a critical
moment when the disbelievers of Makkah were plotting to kill, imprison, or
expel the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. At that time, Allah commanded the Prophet ﷺ
to migrate to Madinah and face the trials ahead with strength and reliance upon
Him.
Though this dua was revealed for a specific moment in the
Prophet’s ﷺ
life, its beauty and depth make it timeless. I’ve personally turned to this dua
whenever I was about to step into something new—whether it was leaving home,
moving to a different city, starting a new journey, or even making a career
change. Every time, Allah has eased my way, protected me, and blessed me beyond
what I imagined.
That’s why I believe this dua is perfect for anyone
seeking Allah’s help and guidance when making a decision, starting something
important, or transitioning into a new chapter in life. Big or small—let this
be your trusted supplication for every new beginning.
رَبِّ إِنِّى لِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ
إِلَىَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَقِيرٌۭ
"My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send
down to me, in need." Quran 28:24 https://quran.com/28/24
Explanation: This dua is one of the most
powerful supplications for seeking Allah’s help—especially when you're unsure
about what decision to make. In our daily lives, we often face
uncertainty—whether it's a small everyday choice or a life-changing decision.
When you're confused, lost, or simply don’t know what the best step forward is,
this is the dua to turn to.
These words were spoken by Prophet Musa (عليه السلام)
and recorded in the 24th verse of the 28th chapter of the Quran (surah
al-Qasas) at one of the lowest and most vulnerable points in his life. He had
just fled his hometown—the very place where he was born and raised—to escape
from Pharaoh’s army, who sought to kill him. Exhausted, hungry, and alone in a
strange land, he didn’t know what would happen next. He had no plan, no
shelter, no food, and no sense of what direction his life would take. But in
that moment of complete helplessness, he turned to Allah with sincerity and
trust and said these beautiful words.
Not long after, Allah responded. He was invited by two
women to their home after helping them at a well, and from that point onward,
Allah began opening doors for him—providing him with shelter, safety, a spouse,
and eventually prophethood.
I’ve personally experienced the power of this dua in my
own life, during moments of confusion, hardship, and desperation. Every time I
called upon Allah with these words—placing my full trust in His wisdom—He
answered me in the most beautiful and unexpected ways. Alhamdulillah.
لَّآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ
سُبْحَـٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
"There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed,
I have been one of the wrongdoers." Quran 21:87 https://quran.com/21/87
Explanation: This powerful dua was made by
Prophet Yunus (عليه
السلام), as recorded in Surah Al-Anbiya (21:87). He called upon Allah
with these beautiful words while trapped in the layers of darkness—inside the
belly of a giant fish, beneath the ocean, in the darkness of night. Alone and
helpless, he had no one to turn to but Allah. This moment came after he had
left his people without Allah’s command, and as a result, Allah tested him
severely. His story is detailed in multiple places in the Qur’an, especially in
Surah As-Saffat (37:139–145) https://quran.com/37/139-145,
where Allah says:
"And had he not been of those who exalt Allāh (glorify Him), he would have
remained in its belly until the Day they are resurrected."
This shows not only the intensity of Allah’s anger but also the immense mercy
He shows to His servants when they turn back to Him sincerely. Prophet Yunus (عليه السلام)
was forgiven when he acknowledged his mistake and glorified Allah with
heartfelt humility. This dua is a timeless reminder for us: no matter how deep
our troubles are, calling upon Allah with sincerity and glorifying Him can
bring light even in the darkest of places.
Allah mentioned in Quran 21:87–88 https://quran.com/21/87-88 this
dua is mentioned, “So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And
thus, do We save the believers.” In this verse, Allah mentions that He
responded to the call of Prophet Yunus (عليه السلام) when he cried out to
Him with these powerful words. Allah then adds a profound statement: “And
thus do We save the believers.” This closing remark is not just part of the
story—it’s a divine sign and a promise. It indicates that Allah responds to all
believers who call upon Him with sincerity, just as He responded to Yunus (عليه السلام).
This promise is further affirmed by a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ,
recorded in Jami` at-Tirmidhi (3505) https://sunnah.com/tirmidhi:3505,
where he ﷺ
said: “Whoever supplicates with the supplication of Yunus will be answered.”
This shows that this dua carries immense power—not just as a historical
moment, but as a living tool of mercy for every believer who turns to Allah in
moments of hardship, regret, or repentance.
I’ve personally experienced the power of this dua many
times in my life. Whenever I found myself stuck—facing a situation where I
didn’t know what to do or where to turn—I called upon Allah with these very
words. And subhanAllah, every single time, I witnessed how Allah opened a way
for me and pulled me out of the difficulty almost instantly. I also turn to
this dua whenever I realize I’ve done something that displeases Allah. In those
moments of guilt and regret, these words become my comfort. And each time, I
feel a deep sense of relief and hope, as if Allah has accepted my repentance
and forgiven me. Alhamdulillah—there is truly no refuge or rescue except in
Him.
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ
رَحْمَةًۭ وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًۭا
"Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for
us from our affair right guidance." Quran 18:10 https://quran.com/18/10
Explanation: This dua, made by the people
of the cave—famously known as the Seven Sleepers—is mentioned in verse 10 of
Surah Al-Kahf. Much like Musa عليه السلام, they found
themselves in a moment of immense trial. These young men chose to leave behind
their homes, their comfort, and everything familiar, solely to uphold their
belief in Allah. They rejected the tyrannical ruler who demanded to be
worshipped as lord and took refuge in a cave, not knowing what would become of
them—how long they’d remain hidden or when the ruler’s army might find and
punish them.
In their vulnerability, they turned to Allah with these
sincere words. And what followed is one of the most miraculous responses ever
recorded in human history—Allah protected them in a way that defies human
understanding. This story isn’t just a tale—it’s a timeless reminder of how far
Allah’s help can reach when we place our full trust in Him.
I’ve personally experienced the power of this dua many
times. When I’ve been stuck, helpless, or surrounded by uncertainty with no
visible solution, this supplication has given me hope and guidance. If we
reflect on its wording, it combines deep faith in Allah with a plea for His
mercy, guidance, and ease in matters unknown. So, whenever we feel lost, alone,
or unsure of the way forward, let us call upon Allah with these words. And
insha’Allah, just as He aided the people of the cave, He will come to our aid
too. That is my firm belief and lived experience.
Each of these duas carries the precise, heartfelt words
chosen by different prophets in moments of deep hardship and need. The beauty
lies in how these words were divinely inspired to call upon Allah during
trials—and we too can use them to seek His help. In my own experience, every
time I called upon Allah with these sacred words, He responded with His wisdom,
mercy, and blessings from sources I never imagined. Though there are countless
powerful duas in the Qur’an, I’ve chosen to share only those that I personally
experienced in my most difficult hours—because they truly transformed my life.
May Allah grant us deep understanding of this beautiful
religion and enable us to live by the teachings of the Qur’an. For truly, it is
the only path to real peace in this world and ultimate success in the
Hereafter. Ameen.
